Biomeiler Aeration Problems

The tire valve on the aeration hose jammed again.  I considered solving the problem, but it was -25F, which was too cold for my motivation level.  So, I gave up.  After being indoors long enough for my brain to thaw, an idea came to me.  I will replace the tire valve on the aeration hose with a quick-connect coupling.  That way, there should be almost nothing that could malfunction in the cold. The only reason there is a tire valve on it is that the hose was recycled from a soda-bottle-rocket launching system.

I was already going to Lowe’s for materials for another project so I stopped in the hosiery department and picked up the necessary parts.  Thanks to a timely gift card from my father-in-law, the entire trip was free!

When it warms up enough, my heat gun should be able to soften the aeration hose to allow for the replacement.  The air compressor hose already has a screw-on fitting that can take one end of the quick-connect coupling.
