Prototype Frame

One of my teammates started a print of the first version of the frame for the inventory system device.  The printer ran overnight and I picked up the model this afternoon.  The top part of the frame is the spool holder.  It carries the RFID board to read the tag on the spool.  The bottom part is the weighing frame.  It carries the force-sensitive resistors in the spaces under the three legs of the spool holder.  The FSRs will measure the weight of the filament on the spool.  The complete frame will sit on a box that holds the breadboard and Raspberry Pi.

The design looks good and it holds a filament spool quite nicely.  One necessary change will be to move the location of the RFID board.  It is currently too close to the hole in the center of the spool.  It would be nice to add some channels for wires to reach from the circuit elements to the breadboard that connects them all to the Raspberry Pi, but that is more about style than function.

Over the Thanksgiving break, I will rebuild the circuits so they all work from the same breadboard and so the circuit elements are physically located in the proper places in the device frame.  We have soldered extension wires to the FSRs and the RFID board to allow for repositioning them.
