The forecast was for snow and we still had not taken down the mesh tent at the farm site. So, I drove out in the morning to take care of it before a heavy snow fall collapsed it.
It wasn’t too difficult except that some water had frozen in the connections of a few pieces. As a result, I couldn’t take all the poles out of the tent. I did my best to disassemble it and roll it up around the unremovable poles without damaging the wall material. In the end, some of the existing damage got worse and I may have started a new tear or two. It is an old tent and it had a good life so I will not be upset if we have to add more patches in order to use it again.

While I was out there, I inspected the chicken pen. Everything looks ready for the winter. In the picture, the overhead netting can be seen lying in a roll, running left-to-right. We left the vertical walls of the pen standing because they are not likely to be affected by the weight of the snow.
Looks like your winter is a serious deterrent to anything outdoors there.
Will the tent site become the site of a permanent building before next winter?
In the summer of 2025, we will begin construction on a building that will be the headquarters for future work on the site.
It will be located near where the tent was set up, but higher up the slope.
