The Hares Are Varying

My apologies for the image quality.  My camera was not conveniently available at the moment of interest so I used my cell phone.

The two hares that visit my back yard have now changed color sufficiently for the difference to be seen even in a cell phone picture.  The smaller of the two made a visit today.  This one is becoming gray, while the other is turning a sandy color.

The weather has been colder, recently, slowing the loss of snow cover.  Even so, there is more exposed ground and more plant stems are poking through the snow.  The hares’ need for summer colors is steadily increasing.  I find it enjoyable to see them progressing through their color transition as the landscape progresses from winter to summer scenery.
